How neocons change the anti-zionism to anti-semitism
by vsredthought

The proliferation of Hitler's Mein Kampf is especially puzzling [in terms of Israel-turkey cooperations]. Turkish publishers print solely in paperback format, and books typically sell for $10-15 per copy. Mein Kampf, on the other hand, sells for as little as $2.50.

The Turkish Prime Minister visits Israel, Turkishweekly, 3 Hours ago

This is while "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" has gotten quite popular among academic sphere in Iran in recent years, the years after its generality among arab nations.

BUT, it seems that the case of turkey is somehow different from other ME countries; the "anti-zionism" is going to change to the "anti-semitism".

Diaries :: vsredthought's diary :: :: Trackback ::

now Adolf Hilter's book, Mein Kampf [My Struggle or Kavgam in Turkish], the book Hitler wrote in prison before he rose to power in 1933, is on the top 10 bestseller list. (via windsofchange)

in this regard, gradually  the "anti-zionistic" writings in turkish paper media is going to change to the "anti-semitistic" writings, specially among nationalist papers. for instance, we see Arslan TEKÝN's famous writings about Mein Kampf, recommending schools to use it as a textbook(!) and the possibility of the rising a Hitler in America(!), also introducing it as a must-read for jews(!)

here and here by Yenicag newspaper.

some selected parts, translated by memri.

"Can a Hitler rise in America? It can happen... What was [true] for Germany before Hitler came to power is [now] exceedingly true for America. Big banks, big TV organs, big newspapers, all the tools that can trap the public opinion are in the hands of the Jews... Politics is run by them too.

What is the proportion of the Jewish [population] in America of 200 million [sic]. Must not even be two percent. They have an image beyond what their numbers merit. I am sorry for the Jews... How come they do not think about the effect their disproportionate 'grandeur' would have on the majority of the [American] people! In Germany, Hitler did not rise just single-handedly. He only answered the questions asked by his people.

Hey Jews! The world cannot bear to have another Hitler [because of you]. Your disproportionate [presence]; your recklessness; your daring to burn the world for [even] one Jew, makes the American people and everyone in the world ask the question: 'what's happening here?' Do you know how the US is seen now? [It looks like] the biggest Jewish empire of the world. [...]

I, like everyone else, am seeing this situation... Hitler's Mein Kampf must be read especially by the Jews.

A madman like Hitler does not just come about [without a reason]... The book which you define as 'nonsense' has set the world on fire. The Jews should think about the reasons [why]."

But as that US diplomat which analyzes truley, this is not the Mein Kampf or anti-semitism which sells, it's anti-americanism, unfortunately.

right now it (anit-americanism) sells Just like sex sells!

a US diplomat in turkey, who declined to be named.

yeh my friends! the Zionist neo-conservatism and these zealot neocons are going to change the anti-Zionism to anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism among nations, unfortunately. I fear about this probable conversion in another countries.

Anti.... (4.00 / 2)

Anti-Judaism: against the Jews as a religion

antisemitism: against the Jews as a race

Anti-Zionism: against the Jews as a nation

I resent the implications of you calling me, a loyal Jewish Denocrat, a neo-con.  It is wrong and uncalled for.

"The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" is an anti-Zionist book.

And I don't get it (none / 0)

The Protocols are anti-semitic, not just anti-Zionist.  Background.

Confusing post (none / 0)

It's not just your long day, or my insomnia, that makes this post confusing.

You hit the nail obliquely. (none / 1)

When an self professed anti-Zionist claims that "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" is not anti-Semitic, they are showing themselves to be an anti-Semite.

For those who are going to jump in, and pull rhetorical flip flops because of the diarist's Iranian background, two points:

  • Anti-Semitism was a term created specifically to refer to Jews, not all Semitic people, to create a modern, pseudo-Eugenic nationalist term.

  • Iranians are not Semitic.

There is no difference between Protocols and Mein Kampf, and Mufti al Husseini criticized the Nazis in the 1940s for not killing Jews fast enough.

in my humble opnion (none / 0)

talking about a "jew country" is like talkng about a "white country" or a "black country". it is a racist talk. becuase it links the "race" (not religion) to the land. I think Judaism doesnt mean Zionism. you shouldnt restrict celestial religion of Judaism or Jews by the limited framework of zionism.

Please delete, rewrite, repost (none / 1)

I can see there is an ESL issue in this diary.  That would be fine, but as it reads, the only thing that actually makes sense--meaning, the only think that we can understood--is the offensively anti-Semitic quote.  So, in its current form, this diary is essentially using dKos to publish an anti-Semitic tract.

I am confident that this was not the intention of the diarist.  So, please take it down, rewrite it so the dKos readership can make sense of it, then repost it as a new diary. I'm sure everyone in this thread who has posted a comment will understand if their comments vanish.

Many thanks in advance for considering this proposal.

I don't understand this post (none / 0)

But just for clarification, a deliberate decision was made by the ADL and like groups back in the 1960's or even earlier to equate criticism of Israel with anti-semitism. This is not a new phenomenon at all.
